Seating Defaults are only relevant for SkyLoad and they allow you to define the dimensions of a seat as well as the gap between seat rows and adjacent seats. This is necessary data to set up the correct scaling for the drawing canvas that is used to draw the aircraft layout. Before using the Aircraft Layout drawing canvas you must first define the dimensions for each class of seat that is used on the aircraft you want to create a layout for.

There is a separate default per class of passenger seat. In the example below we have 2 classes "Mint" and "Core". To see more details about creating passenger class codes see PAX Class Link]
