Organization

Refers to the name of the Company/Group as known at a Global level. For example, Coca Cola has different subsidiaries around the globe, but they all belong to the same Group. The organizations are defined across the different airlines and not specific to one airline because a single supplier or caterer often deals with multiple airlines.

Organization Types

Organizations can belong to five different types depending on their supply chain role

   • Global Airline
   • Regional Airline
   • Low cost (No frills) Airline

   • Equipment Supplier
   • Software Supplier
   • Supplier of Food & Drinks

Caterer/Service Provider

   • Cabin Cleaner/Groundhandler
   • Cargo
   • Caterer

   • Multi Modal Global Logistics Provider
   • Shipping Line
   • Trucking Company

   • Software Solutions Provider

The Organization Type is important and determines where and what that Organization can be used for. If you have an Organization that fits into two or more types you will need to create multiple Organization records - See example below for LSG, where there is an LSG acting as a caterer and an LSG acting as a Suppler of equipment. The Organization category doesn't really affect functionality and is only used for reporting/analysis purposes.

How to create / Update Organizations

Considering that organizations are common between airlines, the update / creation of organizations is a centralized activity that must be done by a Global Administrator. In order to create / update an organization, you will need to raise a support ticket in SkySuite, providing the global name, organization type and category.
