Rotable item will have an an average number of uses - keeping this information maintained helps to ensure forecasting is accurate.

Take for example a piece of glassware such as a champage flute, you might think "it'll last for ever" - well, in theory, yes, in practice no.

Imagine that on average, if 50 are loaded on to an aircraft, 2 might break - for example, they are sat on a passengers fold-out / fold-down table and there is sudden turbulence and the champagne flute falls on to the floor and the stem is broken. Or suppose, people take them as a souvenir of their first flight in business class. A certain % will be broken when going through the catering facility, e.g. being dropped by catering staff. Or suppose that when going through an industrial dishwasher, the glass ware is scratched or it loses its shine - whilst not broken, if its badly scratched or looks less than pristine, it will be discarded.

So actually, a flute might last 130 washes before its deemed to be past its best and not good to be served to a business class / first class passengers who have high expectations for quality, cleanliness etc.

Previously, it was only possible to update the number of uses on a per item (per material) basis but now we facilitate a way to update the number of uses values for multiple materials en mass; this means that the number of uses could be maintained outside SkyLog (maybe just in a spreadsheet) and then the latest data imported into SkyLog on an ad hoc basis.

We expect the file to contain 4x columns of data...

1) the material code 2) the material description (although this wont be updated if the description in your file differs to the description already held for the item) 3) the number of uses 4) an optional free text note

A sample file is attached -please note that all instruction lines must be sandwiched between the two marker rows:

**TABLE START**

and

**TABLE END**

If your file were to be defined as:

**TABLE START**
Item Code
ACME1001
ACME1002
ACME1003
**TABLE END**
ACME1004

Then the instruction for product ACME1004 would not be proceeed, thus if you want to delete many lines, you will have to insert many lines.

A sample file is atttached to serve as an example.
